Warehouse Worker-Michigan

Production - Packaging potato chips to go out to the warehouse.

Warehouse - Getting boxes ready to be shipped out to vendors.

Sanitation - Cleaning and Sanitizing equipment and plant after hours.

Responsibilities-Production

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs at shoulder height-Multiple times within the shift.
  • Complete a pre-operation check on seasoning dispensers to ensure sanitation has been completed and reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Obtain a copy of the production schedule before the start of your shift.
  • Visually inspect product throughout production to ensure proper seasoning application.
  • Maintain a clean work area including catwalks, staging areas, storage areas, etc.
  • No food contact equipment or utensils may touch the floor at any time.
  • Thoroughly wipe all pans and buckets during change overs to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Coordinate changeovers with machine operators to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty all dispensers and perform wipe down at the end of each shift, where appropriate.
  • Complete any required paperwork, as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Clean seasoning applicators weekly
  • Clean seasoning storage bins weekly
  • Perform all duties in an effective manner to minimize downtime, raw material loss, and seasoning spillage.

Responsibilities-Warehouse

  • Must have the ability to count.
  • Accurately select product by matching slot numbers and product descriptions.
  • Lift and carry cases of up to 40lbs. from pick slots and place them onto pallets; cases must be lifted from floor level, shoulder level and overhead.
  • Meet and maintain established productivity standards.
  • Construct sturdy, balanced pallet loads from various sizes and weights of cases for damage-free shipping.
  • Shrink-wrap and stage completed pallets of selected product in proper shipping lanes for loading.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding safety, equipment, damaged goods, and any problems or issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules, including safe operation of equipment and helping to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Appropriately follow food safety procedures.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties in the warehouse as needed and assigned.

Responsibilities-Sanitation

  • Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and rooms
  • Assisting with swabbing processes
  • Disassembling and assembling equipment in order to clean it
  • Performing minor equipment maintenance
  • Working individually and as part of a team
  • Assemble and disassemble production equipment when needed
  • Apply CIP cleaning programs, environmental cleaning with chemicals
  • Follow preventive maintenance techniques weekly
  • Lift weights up to 50 lbs. daily
  • Team-lift weights up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Perform repetitive micro-movements involving the limbs
  • Perform repetitive motion involving the muscles, joints or ligaments
  • Climb steps to mezzanine/kettles
  • Regularly place pressure on one muscle or joint
  • Complete logs and other required documents daily
  • Transport working materials (i.e. folders, thermometers, scale, bags, towels, gloves) daily
  • Read and write numbers
  • Communicate in English or Spanish verbally and in writing
  • Use pallet jack when needed

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally able to work in the U.S.
  • High School diploma or equivalent desired
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (8-10 hours)
