Sr Procurement Specialist The Sr. Procurement Specialist EPC will play a pivotal role in supporting the procurement needs of our expanding North American operations. This position is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with our sales and operational goals, while driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness across EPC and power projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning, project management, cost control, sourcing, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Key Job Responsibilities: Serve as the primary procurement contact for EPC and Power operations in the US and Germany. Manage daily procurement activities including supplier research, RFP/RFQ issuance, purchasing, expediting, and reporting. Identify, qualify, and onboard US-based suppliers, with a focus on electrical equipment and steel works/fabrication. Develop supplier base for EPC projects while also supporting other engineered equipment, engineering, construction, and mechanical services spend categories. Drive the adaptation of European equipment specifications to American standards to enable localized, cost-effective procurement. Prepare bid lists and manage RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. Evaluate bids based on commercial and technical criteria in collaboration with German headquarters. Facilitate technical clarifications and commercial communications for complex purchases. Expedite bid submissions and lead clarification meetings. Lead commercial negotiations and draft, review, and finalize supplier contracts in compliance with legal and company standards. Coordinate procurement activities across all project phasesfrom development to commissioning. Provide input to schedules and procurement plans, and manage purchase requirements through warranty. Maintain regular communication with vendors, internal teams, and German counterparts. Attend meetings and provide updates on procurement priorities and recovery plans. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Develop procurement strategies that challenge existing practices and drive operational efficiency. Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance. Conduct audits and resolve non-conformances. Communicate manufacturing priorities to key suppliers. Model company values including Safety, Customer Orientation, Speed, Simplicity, and Self-Confidence. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and issue contracts and POs in SAP. Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, delivery, and terms. Contribute to the development of project procurement strategies aligned with business goals. Maintain ERP data integrity and flag exceptions impacting production schedules. Author bid tab evaluations and sole/single source justifications. Mitigate delivery risks and manage warranty claims, back-charges, and liquidated damages. Required Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Required Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Capital Procurement / Project Procurement in the power generation or EPC industries. Deep experience with electrical equipment and steel works / fabrication is required, other engineered equipment and technical services categories are highly preferred. Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: Supply chain certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) preferred. Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems. Strong understanding of Capital procurement procedures and contract law. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an office setting and travel domestically and internationally, as required. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and use standard office equipment. Competencies: Cross-functional expertise in procurement project management. Proven results in supporting fast-paced, geographically dispersed organizations. Deep experience in end-to-end EPC procurement, especially electrical equipment and steel fabrication. Experience with engineering services, construction, mechanical, and other technical services categories highly preferred. Familiarity with construction, fabrication, and engineered equipment supplier and contractor base in the US market is required. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills required. Legal negotiation experience is preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills. Ability to resolve issues collaboratively and achieve cost and performance targets. Knowledge of capital project sourcing strategies and procurement processes. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
