Quality Control Inspector

Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Inspector in the Tulsa, OK facility. The Quality Control Inspector provides quality control and assurance of products to ensure that they meet production standards. Recommends adjustments to the assembly or production process. Inspects, tests or measures materials or products being produced to meet specifications and quality requirements. Essential Functions:

  1. Performs accurate mechanical and physical inspections of in-coming material, in-process parts and finished products
  2. Reads and interprets blueprints and customer specifications.
  3. Uses testing equipment including calipers, micrometers and indicators for inspection.
  4. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; approves finished products.
  5. Reports and tracks any deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action to appropriate personnel and upper management.
  6. Documents inspection logs, reports, and customer records with inspection findings and results.
  7. Communicates with customer, vendors and production personnel regarding quality issues
  8. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  9. Notifies management of product discrepancies.
  10. Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  11. Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
  12. Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a quality control inspector.
  13. Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  14. Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Prior experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO standards
  • Prior experience with holding dimensions and tolerances that meet the requirements of customer specifications
  • 3-5 years' Quality Control experience
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Must be organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate both oral & written effectively with both internal & external customers.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerance information
  • Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office Products
  • Technical Communication
  • Candidate must pass a pre employment drug screening
