Sit-Down Forklift Operator Job Description
AO Smith is seeking experienced and safety-focused Sit-Down Forklift Operators to support warehouse and production operations. This position is responsible for safely transporting materials, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory while meeting productivity and safety standards. Job Responsibilities:
Operate sit-down forklift to move materials throughout warehouse and production areas Load and unload trucks, pallets, and materials safely and efficiently Stage, store, and transport products to designated areas Perform inventory movements and assist with cycle counts Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies Conduct daily forklift safety inspections Maintain a clean and organized work environment Follow all AO Smith safety policies and procedures Assist with general warehouse duties as needed Requirements:
Previous sit-down forklift experience required Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification) Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a drug screening Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Reliable attendance and punctuality required Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and operate forklift for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Frequent bending, reaching, and material handling Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment Work Environment:
Manufacturing and warehouse setting Exposure to varying temperatures and industrial equipment May require overtime or shift flexibility based on production needs
