Warehouse Associate
We are seeking a dedicated warehouse associate to perform a variety of functions including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filing orders from stock, packing and shipping orders. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Unload freight and check in merchandise/materials.
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes, place orders in shipping area.
- Sort and place materials or items on warehouse racks, shelves or in bins according to warehouse organization standards.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Maintain inventory controls/records by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received and distributed through inventory computer system.
- Conduct physical inventory of surplus materials and equipment.
- Prepare orders for shipment to branches and/or customers.
- May assist in ordering shipping supplies such as cartons, tape, bonding, and packing materials.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Follow safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or experience:
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment a plus
- Previous forklift experience a plus
- Previous experience/training in safety, shipping, receiving, warehouse stocking, or product and services a plus.
Communication skills:
- Ability to communicate and prioritize workload.
- Ability to read, write and speak to effectively communicate with personnel, customers, and suppliers in person, on the phone, and by written communication.
- Must be able to follow written instructions.
Computer skills:
Proficient level of computer and data entry skills required.
Physical demands:
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift.
- Required regularly to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level.
- Required regularly to lift and/or move (push/pull/carry) objects (equipment, tools, parts) weighing up to and often exceeding 40 lbs. The incumbent will be required to occasionally lift and/or move (push/pull/carry) objects exceeding 50 lbs.
- This position requires the ability to demonstrate full range of motion for bending, pushing/pulling, reaching above/below shoulder level, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing frequently.
- Must have ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 30 minutes.
- Vision requirements: close vision and the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision.

Position type and expected hours of work:
- This is position is classified as full-time, non-exempt.
- Normal days of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime may be required on occasion as needed.
