Summary Role Overview The Senior Supply Chain Design Specialist is responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing supply chain strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. This role involves analyzing current supply chain processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing solutions that align with business objectives to meet Takt times. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain performance, improve delivery times, and reduce costs while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Roles and Responsibilities Analyze and evaluate existing supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Perform Takt time studies and ensure readiness to meet customer demand. Own action plan to drive impacts that align with customer expectations. Design and implement supply chain strategies that optimize inventory management, transportation, and distribution networks. Develop models and simulations to predict supply chain performance and assess the impact of proposed changes. Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other teams to align supply chain design with business goals. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Supply Chain operations. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all supply chain activities. Utilize data analytics and technology tools to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making. Lead or participate in FLIGHT DECK (Lean) initiatives. Manage supplier relationships and evaluate their performance to ensure alignment with Supply Chain objectives. Review routings and Bills of Material (BOMs) to ensure value chain is set up for success. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Supply Chain) Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain Design, Production Planning, and Operations Management. Active security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance. Experience in high volume production environments. Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar). Knowledge of supply chain software and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems). Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience with network optimization tools and techniques. Understanding of global supply chain dynamics and international trade regulations. Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain design. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
