About the role Position Summary: The Shipping Associate plays an important role in our warehouse operations. They are responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing construction materials for shipment to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. They will work closely with the shipping team to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner and meet quality standards Key Responsibility Areas: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements and shipping instructions. Utilize hand tools, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move and stack materials safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping shipping areas and equipment clean and in good condition. Collaborate with the shipping team to prioritize orders, resolve shipping issues, and meet daily shipping goals. Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist for regular cycle counts and reconciling inventory discrepancies. Provide excellent customer service, including answering customer inquiries and assisting with order tracking and delivery updates. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus. Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software/systems is desirable. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Working Environment: Daily shifts are from 7 am-3:30 pm, overtime eligible, and occasional weekends Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and operate material handling equipment safely. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Comfortable with being in an active fabrication environment, specifically loud noises from machinery.
